Sweetcorn

Tozer Seeds were responsible for the introduction of sweetcorn to the UK market in the early 1940's, when the company's first breeder Dr. Dermot Dawson, bred and promoted the first hybrid variety suitable for the UK climate. Today we no longer actively breed sweetcorn but instead conduct extensive trials of the best varieties from the USA.

In conjunction with the world's leading sweetcorn breeder we are currently conducting a major product development programme. This work concentrates on producing better tasting cobs with superior eating quality. These new varieties we have named 'Extra -Tender' and are sure to prove popular both eaten raw like an apple as well as cooked.
