Leek

Leek

Tozer started breeding leeks in the 1970's when we first identified the male sterile character that makes hybrid production possible, however it was not until the 1990's that the method to use this character was determined.

The development of hybrid leeks has been a complex operation, but the expertise of our breeding staff has brought an increasing range of top quality hybrids to the marketplace.

The parent lines of all our hybrids have been carefully chosen to give excellent uniformity, vigour and good disease resistance, particularly to rust. We are pleased to offer a selection of our newest F1 varieties which are available to growers for the first time.
