Tozer started breeding leeks in the 1970's when we first identified the male sterile character that makes hybrid production possible, however it was not until the 1990's that the method to use this character was determined.
Tozer Seeds are continuing to develop new Allium cepa salad onion varieties. Our aim is to further develop A. cepa salad onions and improve our interspecific variety Guardsman.
Most onion crops are grown from sets rather than seed, our small selection of bulb onion varieties are suitable for long days and have been grown successfully for many years.
