Warehouse and Distribution

Warehouse and Distribution

Our warehouse is responsible for a huge amount of different seed batches, from tiny celery seed to large runner bean seed. The operation of seed storage and distribution is complex and is something that we continually work to improve.

Incoming seed

Warehouse and DistributionOnce processed all incoming batches of seed must be sampled, packed into various pack sizes and then stored in the correct locations. Some will need treatment or other processing such as pelleting. Samples of all seed batches are sent from the warehouse to our quality control laboratory.

Storage

Warehouse and DistributionAt Tozer we have five separate warehouses each providing different storage conditions for different types of seed. Most of our warehouses are temperature and humidity controlled in order to keep our seeds in optimum conditions, thereby maintaining the highest quality.

Dispatch

Warehouse and DistributionOnce an order is received and entered we make use of our logistic software, (designed specifically for seed companies) to ensure that the most appropriate batches of seed are assigned to it. We then aim to despatch within 48 hours, even during our busiest periods.

Delivery

Warehouse and DistributionWe use a combination of courier and our own transport to ensure that seed orders are delivered quickly and efficiently. During the busiest time of the year we are despatching upwards of 75 separate orders a day. If you have any comments regarding our deliveries please let us know.
